"BONN - CRADLE OF DEMOCRACY IN GERMANY AFTER 1945 - 75 YEARS OF THE CONSTITUTION". Decision of the jury

1. history of the Basic Law

Technical paper or presentation

There are 4 submissions from 3 schools (Bonns Fünfte, Amos-Comenius-Gymnasium, Nicolaus-Cusanus-Gymnasium). Strictly speaking, only one paper meets the requirements of the competition (Sehr). One paper can show a reference to the GG (Gerhard). Aretz's work can only be linked to the topic in a roundabout way ("Dealing with fear"). One piece of work was written by a Year 10 pupil (Gottschlich); here, too, a link to the GG can be deduced in a roundabout way.

1st place is awarded to Katharina Sehr.

The works of Mikka Gerhardt and Friedrich Gottschlich were awarded 2nd place; Benedikt Aretz was awarded 3rd place (certificate of participation). All receive prize money.

2. fine arts

Picture, drawing, photo or sculpture on "Living Democracy" (Digital photo of the exhibit

with size indication)

There were 17 submissions from three schools (Friedrich-Liszt-Berufskolleg, Nicolaus-Cusanus-Gymnasium, Gymnasium Dinkelsbühl).

Only one of the submissions came from a secondary school in Bonn, i.e. from the location and age group for which the competition was advertised. However, the NCG and Gymnasium Dinkelsbühl should be included as part of the recognition.

First place was awarded to Vincent Brandscheid and Jasmin Kuflicki from Friedrich-Liszt-Berufskolleg. They will receive prize money. All other entries will each receive a certificate of participation.

3. performing arts

Text (script) for theater scene, sketch or poetry slam on the topic "Participation in democracy" (doc file)

Short film on the topic of "Participation in democracy" (download link)

Composition or arrangement of a piece of music on the topic "Living together in democracy" (mp3 and sheet music)

Dance choreography with one or more participating persons on the topic "Living together in democracy". (download-link of a movie of the dance)

Social media campaign or podcast on the topic of "Acting in democracy" (screenshots of possible posts or first episode of a podcast with further planning as a download link)

There were 11 submissions from seven schools (Bertolt-Brecht-Gesamtschule, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium, Glasfachschule Rheinbach, Hardtberg-Gymnasium, Grundschule Feldkirchen Neuwied, Integrierte Gesamtschule-Bonn-Beuel, Rhein-Wied-Gymnasium Neuwied). With the exception of the 4 entries from the Glasfachschule Rheinbach, all submissions came from project groups involving up to 20 schoolgirls. The democracy workshop from Hardtberg-Gymnasium belongs to year 10, but should be treated equally. Rheinbach and Neuwied are outside the tender area (Bonn schools); however, their participation should be recognized with a certificate.

1st place is awarded three times:

"Democracy endangered but lived" - Literature course at Bonn-Beuel Integrated Comprehensive School

"Democracy project" - Bertolt-Brecht comprehensive school

"Stolpersteine" - School newspaper of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt grammar school

Each group receives prize money.

Second place is awarded twice:

"Podcast Democracy" - Hardtberg-Gymnasium

"Accessibility film" - Bon-Beuel integrated comprehensive school project group

Each group receives prize money.

3rd place goes to the 4 students from the Rheinbach glass school

Each student receives prize money.

All 108 participants will receive a certificate of participation.
