Besuch des Landtags Nordrhein-Westfalen
81 Schülerinnen und Schüler aus 8 Schulen in Bonn und dem Rhein-Sieg-Kreis konnten am 28.01.2026 zusammen mit 10 Lehrkräften auf Einladung des Vereins „Internationaler Demokratiepreis Bonn“ (IDP) und dank großzügiger Unterstützung der Sparkasse KölnBonn parlamentarische Demokratie vor Ort erleben. Sie besuchten als Preisträger des IDP-Schulpreises den Landtag Nordrhein-Westfalen, nahmen am Plenum teil und trafen zu Gespräch und Diskussion auf die beiden Abgeordneten Jonathan Grunwald und Dr. Julia Höller, beide auch Mitglieder des IDP-Kuratoriums.
Schulwettbewerb 2026
Der diesjährige Schulwettbewerb befasst sich mit dem Thema „Vorbilder“. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler aus den weiterführenden Schulen und erstmals auch aus den Grundschulen in Bonn und dem Rhein-Sieg-Kreis sind eingeladen, daran teilzunehmen.
Award of the Prize for Democracy and the Rule of Law Bonn
On December 7, 2025, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the federal city of Bonn and the "Bonn International Democracy Prize" association awarded the International Prize for Democracy and the Rule of Law to the independent Belarusian civil rights activist, presidential candidate and leader of the Belarusian opposition Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya awarded.
The event took place at the WCCB in the former plenary hall of the Bundestag. Prof. Dorothee Dzwonnek, Chairwoman of the Bonn International Democracy Award Association, presented the award together with the Lord Mayor of the City of Bonn, Guido Déus, and Minister Nathanael Liminski.
