Alexander Koenig Society

The Alexander Koenig Society supports the Alexander Koenig Zoological Research Museum in a variety of ways (research projects, events, exhibitions, public relations work, awarding prizes).

On September 1, 1948, the first meeting of the Parliamentary Council, which was tasked with drafting the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, took place at Museum Koenig. This makes Museum Koenig the starting point for democracy in Germany.

Deutschlandradio

As a broadcaster in Germany, Deutschlandradio produces three nationwide radio programs. Radio programs: Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk Culture and Deutschlandfunk Nova. Together with the ARD and the ZDF Deutschlandradio is the public service broadcasting in Germany. As Multi-country institution it is subject to the sovereignty of all Federal states.

German Society for International Cooperation

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an organization of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Development cooperationcommissioned by various ministries of the Federal Republic of Germany operates internationally. It was formed on January 1, 2011 from the merger of the German Association for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the International Training and Development gGmbH (InWEnt) and the German Development Service (DED) has emerged. The company is in Bonn and in Frankfurt am Main in the Commercial register as Ltd. registered and has its registered office in Bonn as well as in Eschborn. GIZ's sole shareholder is the Federal Republic of Germany.

DEUTSCHE WELLE

Deutsche Welle (DW) is Germany's international broadcaster. As an independent public broadcaster, it conveys a comprehensive picture of Germany and takes up German and other perspectives. In this way, it promotes understanding between cultures and peoples. DW provides a profound, reliable range of information in 30 languages - via television, radio and the Internet.

DW is aimed at people worldwide, especially decision-makers. To those who have an influence on opinion-forming and who are actively committed to democracy, freedom and progress. It is also aimed at German speakers abroad, teachers of German and learners of German.

DW Akademie is Germany's leading organization for international media development. It supports the development of free, transparent media systems and promotes journalistic quality and media competence.

Deutsche Welle is based in Bonn. Another location is Berlin.

General-Anzeiger

Founded in 1725 as the electoral court printing works, the Bonn newspaper printing and publishing house H. Neusser is still family-owned today as the publisher of the General-Anzeiger. In recent years, the company has undergone a transformation from a pure newspaper publisher to a successful media company. The leading role of the independent and non-partisan General-Anzeiger among the daily newspapers in the Bonn area is based on the one hand on the high level of identification with the region and on the other hand on the readers' identification with "their" newspaper. Around three hundred employees are responsible for the editorial, technical and commercial work in the General-Anzeiger's main office in Bonn-Dransdorf and in the branch offices in the city centers of Bonn, Bad Godesberg, Siegburg, Bad Honnef and Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

Gustav Stresemann Institute

As a non-partisan institution, the Gustav Stresemann Institute (GSI) is committed to participatory political education. Strengthening democratic civil society, international understanding and safeguarding the natural foundations of life form the basis of the GSI's canon of values. The GSI sees itself as a place for current debates, offering space for a constructive discussion of political issues on the basis of expert analysis. The aim is to strengthen differentiated opinion-forming and individual capacity to act - and has been doing so for over 70 years. The GSI is supported by the association Gustav-Stresemann-Institut e.V. für übernationale Bildung und internationale Zusammenarbeit, in which personalities from politics, education and business are committed to democracy and international cooperation. Around 2000 events are held at the GSI conference center every year, as numerous companies and institutions also make use of the professional facilities and three-star hotel. The GSI team includes over a hundred employees who organize and run events or work in the hotel, restaurant and conference center. The President of the GSI is Erik Bettermann, founding chairman of the Bonn International Democracy Prize (IDP).

Haus & Grund Bonn/Rhein-Sieg e. V.

With around 7,000 members, Haus & Grund Bonn/Rhein-Sieg is one of the largest associations in the region and is headed by lawyer Dirk Vianden. Founded in 1903, the association represents the interests of private house, apartment and land owners in Bonn and the Rhein-Sieg district. The association offers its members a very extensive portfolio of services relating to real estate, such as legal advice and representation, as well as tax advice from trusted lawyers and tax consultants, but also assistance from expert architects and engineers. The Haus & Grund Bonn/Rhein-Sieg office is centrally located in Bonn's city center. The association feels particularly committed to the guarantee of ownership in Article 14 of the Basic Law and is committed to ensuring that the disposal of private property remains in the hands of the owner - because without property there is no democracy! In its numerous events, the association always draws attention to Bonn as the cradle of our democracy and "constitutional city".

Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences

The University of Applied Sciences (HAW) was founded in 1995 as part of the Bonn-Berlin settlement. The university has more than 9,000 students. Around 1,400 people are employed in teaching, research and administration. The university attaches great importance to the social responsibility of science. In all five faculties, especially in the "Social Policy and Social Security" faculty, as well as the 18 institutes, in particular the "Center for Ethics and Responsibility (ZEV)", questions of social responsibility, ethics and the shaping and further development of democracy, especially in the context of ecological and digital transformation, are addressed.
